our garage...excuse me...car-hold door is busted. jammed up from a kids bike being left out
and so bent out of shape that it wont close without help and it wont be coerced back into a usable shape. Looking at new doors and looking for your opinions
This is the current frontrunner. almond “cottage” with windows and a cedar board herringbone pattern above.
Same thing, but in brown
Almond but no cedar.
Almond Cottage with no windows and no cedar
Same as above but brown
The top one is the most money and down from there. Its been a helluva week. Dishwasher finally got replaced last Friday (old one was a leaker), then the garage door happened Saturday night. Then this happened last night
all from that tiny pinhole leak

I think the technical term is “car-hole”

I prefer #1 as well. I don’t think the lower options with the vertical slats above work on a brick house... Everything should be horizontal-based where possible

From your simulations, I like the brown with the windows best. Are these doors using actual wood, or would it just be some plastic? I imagine if they are not real wood, something with a painted look would be better...

I vote no garage door. Just rip off your current one! It’ll give your home that “open and airy” feel!
But.... if you MUST, I do agree, #1 is most appealing.

2nd option, the first looks odd with the 2 different colors

I know at first it may seem outside of your budget but have you considered a laser waterfall? Design has progressed very far and they can be quite tasteful

Yeah, given that, it seems likely to me that the paler color would look better in person, even though the brown looks better to me in your illustration.

that's my train of thought

I like #2, with #3 close behind it.

Top one, if the price fits your budget. I love the color, pattern, and the windows.

Number 1. You can save some dough by installing it yourself. I did mine without any help. I recommend at least one person to help lift the doors into place. The most dangerous part is tensioning the spring, but it’s safe enough if you are careful. No worse than dealing with coil springs on your car’s suspension.

What does your front door(human door) look like?

What I did for my brother as a temporary solution is slot in a 2x4 in the bent sections of the door. And screw it in place. It’s held up for him for quite a while.

roll up door?

The last one would work. Simple and least costly. Have you thought about just replacing that one bad panel and painting the door? Might save you a bit, of the rest of the door is solid.

I'll take door #2 Monte.

See, all the brick structures around me have headers like this:
So not seeing a vertical pattern above an opening looks weird to my eye. Architecture is fascinating...

I think the almond options all look the best, especially the ones with windows.
How does a pin hole leak like that even develop? Looks like it sucks to fix though, especially since it probably took a bit before it became obvious there was an issue.

I like the second one all wood. The darker color matches the bricks and roof well.
